A rare vintage 1980s print by Japanese artist Ichiro Tsuruta, featuring an elegant woman in turquoise blue, black, and ivory. The clean lines, stylized features, and sophisticated fashion imagery reflect Tsuruta’s distinctive Art Deco-influenced aesthetic.

The print is professionally displayed beneath clear glazing with layered cream, gray, and black matting in a slim gold-tone metal frame. The reverse retains its original Frame of Mine label from Brookwood Village in Birmingham, Alabama.

About the Artist

Born in Japan in 1954, Ichiro Tsuruta studied graphic design at Tama Art University and became known for his modern interpretation of bijin-ga—portraits of beautiful women. His work combines Japanese artistic traditions with influences from Art Deco, Art Nouveau, and fashion illustration. Although sometimes compared stylistically to Patrick Nagel, Tsuruta developed his own distinctly Japanese approach to modern feminine portraiture.
